寫翻譯思路主要歸納為以下三點：

2.正確單據，注意英漢語言習慣

3.靈活選詞，注意語態轉換

英語翻譯中詞類的轉換十分常見，其中主要有名詞、動詞、形容詞比較容易出現詞類轉換，在翻譯時要注意詞類的靈活轉換。詞類轉換有時也根據句子的語態來發生變化，在英漢兩種語言當中都有主動和被動兩種語態，在英語中，被動語態要更為常用一些，所以翻譯時不能生硬的套用漢語的習慣，要注意英語的特點，及時轉換語態。

先摳詞

經濟增速放緩，其實就是經濟降速。如果經濟倒退，就不會出現growth，這里指的是經濟增長速度沒那么快。

可選用的詞包括slow down, brake, decelerate

沒那么大，很自然聯想到比較級。這里可以選用modest, moderate, gentle, mild。

或者順著原文直譯，if economy growth fails to decelerate at such a pace。

審慎之路

走……的道路，在政府報告和企業介紹中是常見句式。比如：

中國將始終不渝走和平發展道路。China will unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development.

我們要堅持綠色發展、清潔發展、低碳發展的道路……We follow a green, clean, and low-carbon path…

當然，即使原文中沒有“路”的字眼，譯文也可以使用follow a path，用以表示理念、原則，比如：

中國海油以科學發展觀為指導，堅持“雙贏、責任、誠信、創新、關愛”的企業理念。At CNOOC, we follow a path to sustainability, and stay committed to win-win development, accountability, integrity, innovation and caring practices in everything we do.

因此，審慎之路可以考慮“the path of prudence”。“路”也可以舍棄不譯，直接說abandon prudence 或 abandon prudent approaches / policies。也可以選擇動詞短語 back away from (a prudent plan) Back away from: to stop supporting a plan or idea, or stop being involved in something逐漸退出，不愿再考慮，

比如：

The government has backed away from its nuclear weapons strategy. 政府已經放棄核武器戰略。

也可以再簡單一點，直接說be prudent。根據前面的嚇得，be too scared to be prudent，嚇壞了，以致于無法prudent。

嚇得，動詞有Scare, frighten。形容詞有scared, frightened, afraid, terrified, petrified，搭配too … to/so … that。

組句思路

先分析句子，大體意思是“更小的經濟降速就已經嚇得政府得舍棄了審慎”。

經濟降速做主語，嚇作謂語，政府做嚇的賓語，舍棄這個動作塞在一個介詞里：

Milder slowdowns have scared the government off the path of prudence before.

關于英文介詞與中文動詞的互譯，也是翻譯的一個技巧。

政府做主語：

The government was alarmed by milder slowdown so it abandoned the path of prudence.

將幅度裝在狀語部分，把句子斷開：

Yet facing more modest slowdown before, the government was already too scared to follow the path of prudence.
